Job Summary:

Work in cooperation with the Director of Housing & Orientation in developing the Orientation program for new students, attend to the day-to-day details associated with the planning and execution of New Student Orientation and assist in the recruitment, training and supervision of volunteer student staff.

Must be a current undergraduate with excellent oral and written communication skills, the ability to organize details and coordinate plans; excellent reception, telephone, and referral skills; plus good office skills (typing, filing, and simple bookkeeping). Must be familiar with campus services, demonstrate a willingness to work hard, and maintain a sense of humor. Preference will be given to students who have held significant leadership positions while at the institution with a proven record of success in the area of working with peers. The successful candidate must be able to work independently. Mac, LiveWhale, social media including Facebook and Twitter experience preferred. Prior experience with New Student Orientation is preferred.

•Schedule and facilitate meetings
•Organize and prioritize daily tasks with minimal supervision
•Compose (edit) and prepare all written communications with new students and L&C community
•Maintain Orientation website
•Recruit, train and motivate student orientation leaders and management team leaders

Work Schedule Summary:

April 16 – May 4, 2018 (5-10 hrs. per week)
May 7 – September 3, 2018 (40 hrs. per week)
December 2018 – Limited hours in preparation of Spring Orientation, January 2019
February 2019 – Limited hours to assist in the interview and selection of new Student Director
