Job Summary:

Federal or LC Work Study Required. Non-work study applicants cannot be considered at this time.

-Serve as an ambassador by establishing an open line of communication between the College and its supporters.
-Gain a greater understanding of the College, its organizational structure, and its annual needs for financial support.
-Call constituents (alumni and parents) to build personal rapport, update demographic information to maintain accurate records, and acquire gifts to the Annual Fund.
-Handle personal information with extreme confidentiality.
-Arrive on time and with a positive attitude.
-Work with other student callers in a team-oriented environment to achieve institutional goals
-Act professionally at all times while strengthening relationships between the College and its supporters.

This position requires strong verbal and written communication skills, a problem-solving mentality, the ability to think strategically in a fast-paced environment, and a genuine affinity for Lewis & Clark College. Effective time management skills are essential. In order to qualify for this position, you must have a willingness to work with others. Working with the Phonathon team is an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and expertise in communication, fundraising, and public relations.

This position does not require any past fundraising experience. Two training sessions are provided. We are looking for students who love Lewis & Clark and want to share their experiences and stories with others!

All students must complete a Federal I-9 Employment Eligibility form, W-4 form, and Confidentiality Agreement after their hire date.

Experience/Skills Gained:

Develop strong fundraising, marketing, and communication skills. Expand your technical literacy and organizational skills through a database of Lewis & Clark prospects. This position allows you to network with the L&C community throughout the country.

Opportunities for advancement are available. Student callers are eligible for leadership positions after one semester with above-average performance and an excellent attendance record.

This position provides quality resume-building experience that employers value.

Work Schedule Summary:

Shifts are available Monday-Thursday 5:30pm-8:45pm and Sunday 4:30pm-7:45pm.

Callers are asked to commit 9.75 hours (3 shifts) per week, but no less than 6.5 hours per week.

Calling occurs September-December and January-April with optional May calling.
